Data show that reduced expression of PRDM5 may play an important role in the pathogenesis and/or development of cervical cancer, and is considered to be caused in part by aberrant DNA methylation. Lipooligosaccharide and the lipid A and core oligosaccharides derived from it were all able to induce the defense-related gene PR1 in Arabidopsis and to prevent the hypersensitive response caused by avirulent bacteria. Expression in comparison to At2g19990; recommendation to change the annotation. Several genetic screens for SA insensitive mutants independently identified the same gene, NPR1(Nonexpresser of PR genes 1, also called NIM1, SAI1), as a master regulator of the SA signaling pathway (Yan and Dong, 2014). Genes coding for several pathogenesis-related (PR) proteins, such as chitinase and some glucanases, have been isolated, cloned, and expressed in plants, thereby interfering with the development of certain groups of pathogens and providing resistance to affected plants. PGR (Progesterone Receptor) is a Protein Coding gene.

Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include DNA-binding transcription factor activity and signaling receptor binding. Jun 06, 2018 Pathogenesis-related (PR) proteins are proteins produced in plants in the event of a pathogen attack. They are induced as part of systemic acquired resistance. Infections activate genes that produce PR proteins.

Some PR genes are induced exclusively in vpy mutants. The steroid hormones and their receptors are involved in the regulation of eukaryotic gene expression and affect cellular proliferation and differentiation in target tissues.

Through mining genomic databases, we identified 21 PR-1 genes from the Vitis vinifera genome. Polypeptides encoded by putative PR-1 genes had a signal sequence of about 25 residues and a mature protein of 10.9-29 kDa in size. PR-1 mature proteins contained a highly conserved six-cysteine motif and pI values ranging from 4.6 to 9. Systematic analysis of PR gene expression revealed that several PR genes are induced in mycorrhizal roots of the wild‐type, and even more in vpy plants.
